What we do
Everything the yard needs, one local crew.
From lawn care and sod to patio pavers, retaining walls, drainage, decks, fences and concrete — Ramirez General Landscaping handles the whole yard in-house across Raleigh, Cary, Apex and the greater Triangle. One owner-run crew, one standard, one point of contact from the free estimate to the final walk-through.

01Service
Lawn Care & Maintenance
A great yard starts with a well-kept lawn. We handle regular mowing and crisp edging, seasonal fertilization and weed control, aeration and leaf cleanups — a maintenance routine built around Piedmont grasses and the Carolina growing season. Whether you want a one-time reset or a crew you don't have to think about, we keep the lawn looking sharp so the rest of the landscape has a clean canvas to sit on.

02Service
Sod Installation
Seed takes a season; sod gives you a real lawn in a day. We strip out the old, grade and prep the soil so it drains and roots properly, then lay fresh sod tight and true across the whole area. Done right, from the base up, it knits in fast and holds — no bare patches, no washouts. We'll steer you to the right grass for your sun, soil and how you plan to use the yard.

03Service
Patio Pavers & Walkways
A paver patio is where a backyard becomes an outdoor room. We build patios, walkways and paver driveways on a fully compacted, properly bedded base — not a thin layer of sand that heaves and rocks a couple of seasons in. Natural stone or concrete pavers, laid to clean lines and correct falls so water runs off and joints stay tight. It's the hardscape the rest of the yard is designed around, built to last.

04Service
Retaining Walls
On a sloped Triangle lot, a retaining wall is what turns wasted grade into flat, usable yard — and keeps soil where it belongs during a hard Carolina downpour. We build block and natural-stone walls on a solid footing with proper drainage behind them, so they hold the load and shed water instead of bowing out over time. Whether it's a low garden wall or a structural terrace, it's built to stay put.

05Service
Drainage Solutions
Piedmont clay doesn't drain — so standing water, soggy lawns and water pooling against the foundation are the number-one yard problem we get called for. We diagnose where the water actually goes, then fix it: French drains, catch basins, regrading, downspout extensions and dry creek beds that carry runoff away from the house and out of the yard. Get the water right and everything you plant and build on top of it lasts longer.

06Service
Residential Landscaping
When a yard needs more than a tidy-up, we take it back to the layout and rebuild around how you actually live outside. Planting beds, trees and shrubs suited to Carolina soil, clean stone edging, mulch, grading and the hardscape to tie it together — designed and built by one crew so it reads as one considered space. From a fresh front-yard facelift to a full backyard transformation, we handle the whole thing.

07Service
Commercial Landscaping
Commercial grounds are about consistency and curb appeal week in, week out. We handle installation and ongoing maintenance for offices, retail, HOAs and multi-family properties — mowing, bed care, seasonal color, mulch, irrigation checks and cleanups on a schedule you can rely on. One accountable crew that shows up, keeps the property sharp, and makes the right first impression for anyone pulling into your lot.

08Service
Decks & Fences
A deck turns an awkward slope or bare back door into somewhere you actually spend time, and a good fence gives a yard privacy and definition. We build custom wood and composite decks framed square and solid, and install fencing set to true posts and clean lines that stays straight for years. Built to carry weight, shrug off Carolina weather, and finish off the outdoor space the rest of the landscape is built around.

09Service
Concrete Work
Some jobs call for poured concrete, and we pour it properly. Patios, walkways, pads and slabs formed, reinforced and finished on a solid, well-prepared base so they stay level and don't crack up on you. Clean edges, correct slope for drainage, and the right finish for the job — long-lasting concrete work that does exactly what it should and looks intentional doing it.

10Service
Artificial Turf
For the spots where real grass struggles — deep shade, high traffic, pet areas, tight courtyards — artificial turf gives you a lush, even green all year with no mowing, watering or mud. We prep and grade the base so it drains, then install turf that lays flat, stays put and looks natural underfoot. A low-maintenance, always-tidy answer where a traditional lawn is more trouble than it's worth.

11Service
Mulch & Stone Edging
The details are what make a yard look cared-for. Fresh mulch to hold moisture and knock back weeds, natural-stone edging to define beds, and crisp cut edges that give the whole landscape a clean, intentional line. It's the finishing layer that pulls a yard together — and one of the fastest, most affordable ways to make an existing landscape look sharp again.

12Service
Tree & Landscape Cleanup
Between the big projects, we keep properties clean and clear. Tree and shrub trimming, brush and storm-debris removal, gutter cleaning, pressure washing and full seasonal cleanups that reset the yard in spring and fall. Whether it's an overgrown lot that needs clearing or a routine tidy-up before the season turns, we haul it off and leave the property clean and ready.
Standards & materials
The parts that make a yard last — not just look good on day one.
Good landscaping is as much about the process and the base you don't see as the surface you do. Here is what sits behind a Ramirez yard.
A proper compacted base
Patios, walkways and retaining walls are only as good as what sits under them. We build on a fully compacted, correctly bedded base — not a thin layer of sand — so the hardscape stays level and tight instead of heaving and rocking a couple of seasons in.
Drainage done first
Piedmont clay doesn’t drain, so we get the water right before anything else — French drains, catch basins, regrading and downspout work that carry runoff away from the house. Get the water sorted and everything you plant and build on top of it lasts longer.
Grass suited to your yard
For sod and lawns we steer you to the right grass for your sun, soil and how you use the yard, laid over properly graded and prepped soil so it knits in fast and holds — no bare patches, no washouts.
Built to Carolina weather
Concrete poured on a solid base to correct falls, decks framed square and solid, fences set to true posts — finished to shrug off Carolina summers and winters and stay straight and level for years.
How it works
Free estimate, build in-house, stand behind it.
01
Free estimate & plan
We come out, walk the property with you and talk through how you want to use the space — the drainage, the grade, the sun, the way you move through the yard. Estimates are always free. You get a clear, itemized scope and a straight answer on what the yard actually needs before any work starts.
02
Build & install, in-house
One Ramirez crew carries the whole job — grading and drainage, sod and planting, patio pavers, retaining walls, concrete, decks and fences. We keep the site clean and keep you posted at each stage, so you're never chasing a chain of separate trades to get one yard finished.
03
Walk-through & stand-behind
We hand the yard over with a proper walk-through and clear guidance on caring for new sod, plantings and hardscape. New lawns and beds need a season to settle in, so we stay reachable — and because we're licensed and insured, you've got real recourse, not just a handshake.
Before you call
Questions we're asked most.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No — estimates are always free, with no obligation. We walk the property, talk through what you want, and give you a clear, itemized price. Texting over a couple of photos of the yard is often the fastest way to get started.
Will I actually deal with Roberto?
Yes. Roberto Ramirez founded the company in 2018 and runs the projects himself, so the person who quotes your yard is the one accountable for how it turns out.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Raleigh and cover the greater Triangle — Cary, Apex, Durham, Holly Springs, Garner, Wake Forest, Morrisville and the towns around them. For larger projects we'll travel a little further.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Ramirez General Landscaping, LLC carries general liability, commercial auto and workers' compensation coverage, with a current certificate of insurance on file.
Is the work done in-house?
Yes. The core landscaping and hardscape is done by our own Ramirez crew, so you deal with one crew and one point of contact throughout.
Do you handle both small jobs and full transformations?
Both — a cleanup, a fence run, a fresh sod lawn or a patio, right up to a complete front- and backyard transformation. Many customers start with one job and come back for the next.
Not sure what the yard needs?
That's what the free estimate is for. We'll walk the property with you, tell you straight what's involved, and give you a clear, itemized scope before any work starts.
